Content Marketing VIP is back after 148 days
Starting next week, expect the Content Marketing VIP newsletter to land in your inbox every Monday.
On May 15, 2023, I sent out the 100th episode of the Content Marketing VIP newsletter.
After that, I decided to take a break from the newsletter due to burnout.
I'll admit, it was quite a long break (148 days, to be specific), but now I'm back and more excited than ever to restart my newsletter.
I'm a little nervous about whether you still remember this newsletter or not.
If that's the case, here's a quick overview:
You subscribed to the Content Marketing VIP newsletter months ago, which used to feature SEO case studies, actionable strategies, and expert insights every Monday.
You can also find the archive of older (yet still valuable) newsletter issues.
But guess what?
I'm back and more excited than ever to share actionable SEO insights that you can implement right away 🥳.
Starting next week, expect the Content Marketing VIP newsletter to land in your inbox every Monday, covering the following aspects of SEO:
🔗 Links (earning and building)
📝 Content (from an SEO and content writer's point of view)
🛒 UX/CRO for SEO (improving conversions)
🚀 EEAT and turning your website into a brand
📈 SEO strategy breakdowns of top successful sites
Are you excited? Please share this newsletter with others so I know you still support my efforts.
By the way, how can I send you a newsletter without providing any SEO value?
Here's the first one to get started →
💡 Your blog articles deserve a better layout
We spend so much time optimizing our landing/product/service pages for higher conversion.
We do a lot of A/B testing and experiment with messaging.
But when it comes to blog articles, we all rely on the default blog layout that follows the same elements:
Post Title (left-hand side)
Author name and published date
Short description (in some cases)
Featured image
An example:
The question is:
Are we choosing this ‘above-the-fold’ layout because it is optimized for conversion, or is it mainly because it's the default layout in most website themes?
Most of our answers are the second option.
Here’s a better approach:
Include super personalized lead magnet/CTA related to the blog article topic.
An example:
The blog article ‘SEO career opportunities’ has a lead magnet that offers an SEO career guidebook.
Most importantly, the lead magnet is placed at the top of the article without making it too promotional.
In fact, this will actually add value for readers who want to grow their career in SEO.
If you’re using WordPress, you can easily create this layout with any page builder such as Elementor.
Key takeaways:
Treat every blog article as a landing page.
Ensure that the blog topic and the CTA are highly relevant to each other.
Consider this approach to be more effective for BOFU (Bottom of the Funnel) topics.
Note: If your article is already driving a ton of traffic, consider changing your above-the-fold section with this approach. Then, measure the difference. Implement this to other articles if it improves your conversion.
Again, thank you for the support I received from you guys 👏👏👏.
If you have any messages, want to share your best wishes, suggest topics or ask questions reply back to this email.
I will get back to each of your messages.
🌟 See you Monday!
