🎯 Actionable Insights

💡 1. The Internal Linking Strategy To Get More Organic Clicks

Adding FAQschema seems like a good option in SEO, but it can eventually cause a significant traffic drop.

The below screenshot is an example is that adding FAQ schema increased the impressions but decreased clicks.

The key reason is that users get the answer to their questions without even clicking any of the web pages.

Possible solution?

Fortunately, you can add internal links within the FAQ schema to drive traffic to other pages of your website.

Here's how TripAdvisor uses internal linking in the schema:

Recommendation: Optimize informational articles with FAQ schema and internal links to other related articles or product pages (only if that helps users).

Various ways to get FAQ ideas for your web pages:

  • Google autocomplete

  • People also ask section

  • Study forums like Quora, Reddit, etc.

  • Free tools like Sistrix, AnswerThePublic, etc.

💡 2. These 10 Technical SEO Tips Will Help You Rank Higher (by Keval Shah)

Here, you’ll learn some technical tips to improve your website performance.

1/ Fix 404 & Broken Link

Why is this important: broken links lead to poor user experience, affect the website's crawlability, waste 'link value,' etc.

How to fix: Use tools like screaming frog or Ahrefs webmaster to find and redirect broken link links on your site.

2/ Delete Duplicate Content

Why is this important: Pages with the same content confuse Google on which page to rank first.

How to fix: Review the list of duplicate pages and decide whether to delta, redirect, or add a canonical tag to the page.

3/ Improve Site Performance

How to fix: Use free tools like GTMetrix or Google page speed insights to check the site performance. Improve the load speed (especially).

4/ Include Alt-Tag

Why is this important: Alt text helps Google to understand the content of images. This can significantly improve your image rankings as well (especially for eCom sites).

How to fix: Add descriptive and unique alt text for images.

5/ Add An Audit Robots.txt File

Check the robots.txt file in your web server. Make sure important pages aren’t Disallowed.

6/ Shorten URLs

Make URLs concise and simple. Also, avoid using unnecessary numbers or years in the URL to make it relevant for the long run.

7/ Submit an XML Sitemap

Submit XML sitemap in the Google search Console to allow bots to easily crawl and index your pages.

8/ Add Relevant Metadata

Meta data is one of the most rewarding on-page factors that can improve page performance significantly.

Add a unique page title and meta description considering the target keyword.

9/ One H1 Tag Per Page

It is recommended to use only one unique <H1> tag per page.

10/ Restructure Architecture

“Ensure any child pages are no more than 3 folders deep in the URL structure.

Make sure your internal links are keyword-rich to optimize authority flow.”

How to fix: use Screaming Frog’s ‘directory tree graph’ feature and get an overview of the overall site structure at the crawl depth level.

TL;DR

  • Fix 404 & Broken Link

  • Delete Duplicate Content

  • Alt-Tag All Images
